Obituary

Ronald Joseph Langa

Ronald was born on March 25, 1943 and died unexpectedly on November 6, 2019.  He is preceded in death by his father-Al Langa, his mother-Jane Langa, and his mother-in-law-Nancy Baldwin.  He is survived by his wife, Lynda, Maitland, and two daughters Lauren, Orlando, & Lesley, Takoma Park, Maryland.  He also leaves his brother, Alex Langa from West Long Branch, New Jersey, and his sister, Patricia Charles from Leesburg, Virginia.

Ron grew up in Ambridge, Pennsylvania but graduated from high school in Ft. Lauderdale.  He then graduated from Florida State University. Not knowing what he wanted to pursue professionally at that time, he joined the Army.  He served in the Army for several years before leaving as a Second Lieutenant and settling in Orlando. After working in Orlando in the insurance world, he decided to pursue law.  He graduated with his Juris Doctorate from Memphis State University.

While in law school, he asked a fellow student to “get me a date with a homey.”  Lynda was the homey. Ron & Lynda married while Ron was still in law school but moved to Orlando after graduating.  Ron has been practicing law in Orlando ever since.

Ron & Lynda have lived in Maitland since 1976.  The girls went through school in Maitland and Winter Park, then followed their Dad’s tradition and graduated from Florida State.  He loved that they were Seminoles. The beach was a place of comfort for Ron. Vacations were spent in Captiva, Long Boat Key, Vero Beach, and New Smyrna Beach.  He found the water and the sandy beaches a place to relax.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, Nov. 15th from 4:30 to 7:00 at Collison Funeral home, 3806 Howell Branch Road, Winter Park, and funeral services will be on Saturday, Nov. 16th at 1:00 at Winter Park Presbyterian Church, 400 S. Lakemont Ave, Winter Park.
